Miss Julia and a couple of others

The "Miss Julia" series is so much fun. They are written by a local, Hendersonville author, Ann B. Ross. I have read the first 4 books and laughed through every one.

If you like "Steel Magnolia" humor, and if you can appreciate the comedy found in a "proper" southern, Presbyterian woman, then you might enjoy "Miss Julia".

It is best to start with the first book, "Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind". You meet the main characters of the series, and I instantly fell in love. I think I know each and every one of them.
The second book was fun, but not as memorable.
The third book is was a birthday gift from mom. I just finished it last night. I don't usually laugh out loud while reading, but this was classic Julia. Matthew kept asking me what was so funny.
This is the fourth book. My friend, Beth, gave it to me a few birthdays ago. She also had it signed by the author! This, too, was classic Julia.

All in all, this is a great series. I had not realized that I have read 4 of the books. I just pick one up every once in awhile. I look forward to reading more of them. I know I haven't said much about the books themselves, but I like to leave it up to the reader.

Now I'll switch gears and read a nice, gory detective novel by Jonathan Kellerman. If you like Patterson, give Kellerman a try. I actually think they are a better series.

One last thing. If you haven't read "The Shack", don't let the cover scare you. It was quite enjoyable full of laughter and tears.

HAPPY READING!
